Remote automated work station (RAWS) of the air traffic control (ATC) is designed to be installed on fixed and mobile control posts of air traffic control in the area of the airfield (start, taxiing, racetrack, approach).

Remote AWS of ATC is mounted on the basis of standard hardware and special units interfacing with the sources of information. Special software (SSW) provides dispatching personnel with the following types of data:

  • radar data from the sources of primary and secondary location, ATC center (various categories of Asterix and other protocols);
  • radio data from the automatic direction-finder (ADF);
  • estimated data from the ASM AS with regard to the location point;
  • meteorological information;
  • aeronautical data transmitted from the ATC center.

Remote AWS of ATC provides the ATC personnel with the possibility to get a complete view of situation environment and take a prompt decision under the condition of high intensity of air traffic.

The advantage of the remote AWS of ATC is that it is not required to deploy a complex of the ATC stand along system, but it is enough to connect to the actually running system via the existing communication channels.
